Bakkheia Triparte SGM 2013

A blend of Shiraz, Grenache and a splash of Mataro (50/40/10% respectively). Lovely rendition of the blend. Initially quite closed - give it some air - thereafter you'll be treated to lavender flroals, garrigue, sitting in front of some prime red fruit.

Seeing only old oak, 10 months in subsequent use French, it's all about the fruit. The palate is smooth, with a compote of cherry and blackberry allowed to shine through. Fruit and acid are nicely in balance, the two should work in tandem to allow a good stint in the cellar.

Length is good, holding up well over 2 days, delivering little licorice twists at its conclusion. Very good effort. 91
