Shaw Vineyard Estates Merlot 2013

Black cherry, plums, whiff of smoke, suggestive hazelnut lingers in the background.

Attractive palate profile: a seductive hint of oak, cherry, a modicum of spice. Elegant, lovely interaction of essentially savoury character with a balancing fruit aspect. Touch of tannin: fine - more structure required to really see it as a standout example.

Finishes well, black fruit - composed; good enough to pull you back for a second glass. 90
