Patina NV Rosé

"Back in 2008 I co-fermented Pinot Noir and Chardonnay destined to become a sparkling wine. This wine would have made great bubbles but I just couldn’t get my heart into it. So in 2013 I decided to change direction and added it to the juice of 2013 Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc to re-ferment and make it into a non-vintage rosé. The result was an absolutely delightful wine that set the direction for my rosé style."

Dried Citrus peel, lifted, spice. Very attractive,  citrus and stonefruit tinged.

Textural, almost challengingly so, with a drying quality across the back palate. Chalky, powdery, red apple sweetness.

Citrus oil. Complexity. 93

Tasted on: Sunday 1st January, a Root day
Source: Sample
Price: $25
Alcohol: 13.5%
