Alkoomi Blackbutt Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

"The Blackbutt is a fine tuned blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), Malbec (14%), Cabernet
Franc (5%) and Merlot (1%) from the oldest blocks of estate grown fruit."

Unsure of the release strategy here, but it is sent to market as a seven year old wine.

Subtlety is the watchword here: restrained, refined, almost regal. Cassis, mulberry and a savoury sense about it.

Composed, balanced, possesses structure that carries the black fruit flavour long across the palate. 91

Tasted on: Friday 14th April, a Flower to Leaf day
Source: Sample
Price: $62
Alcohol: 13.6%
Closure: Screwcap
