Gartelmann Verdelho 2016

Overflowing with the fruit salad aromatics that Verdelho is renowned for: the full range  of tropical fruit spectrum, calling out some candied pineapple for special mention.

You might expect sweetness on the palate, there's some and yet it's balanced with a little acid and some phenolic bitterness. Does it work? So-so, it's Jancis Robinson's "workmanlike variety", perhaps one for the warmer weather. 88
