'Soumah' is so named in a manner akin to one of those trendy New York neighbourhoods (like SoHo or TriBeCa), its name being derived from an abbreviation and concatenation of SOUth of MAroonda Highway. That particular highway being a major thoroughfare in the region, connecting it to Melbourne.
In a world where savoury is often craved in PN, it's refreshing to encounter something that's, well, fresh. Carries an elegance, there's a pomegranate vibe to proceedings here, pure in how it manifests itself in the glass.
There's no contrast in the mouth, straddling this cassis veering to something like Grenadine, its refreshment personified. A fine rasp of tannin adds a little something else. But at just 12.5% see this for what it is: a lighter of body, refreshing red of easy going nature. 90
