Topper's Mountain Wild Ferment Shiraz 2013

Peanut brittle seems to come and go here, but at its heart is a core of red fruit over chocolate.

Gives the impression it's sweet - from the intro - and there's a certain marriage of oak-meets-fruit-meets spice, the latter what whisks the wine away from a simply fruited wine to something more substantive.

Curl of liquorice gives a little length to proceedings. 90

Tasted on: Tuesday 19th June, a Fruit day
Source: Sample
Price: $
Alcohol: 13.5%
Closure: Screwcap

  1. Glad you liked the 2013 wild ferment Shiraz Stuart. I think 2013 was the first 2 clone vintage with Heritage 1833 being the new clone added. It gave the wine a much more fruit-driven, buxom character than the previous single clone wine. They were much more linear, mineral driven & cool-climate lean. MarkK, Topper's Mountain Wines
