Angullong Fossil Hill Tempranillo 2016

Hints of dough and balsa-wood. Seasoning and shavings of cedary oak.

Fuller, powdery fine tannin, glimpses of black fruit before an astringent bitterness towards the back palate. Cocoa powder, blue fruit glimpses. Finish moderate. Questionable.

Surprising. 88

I tried the same wine just last night....my notes.
This dips its lid to the Old World.
Dark and red cherries – tapenade – and raspberries. No blockbuster – oak subservient.
    This is an excellent wine.
Fruit allowed to express itself, but also framed and wrestling with tannin sinew.
Too many temps stray into broadness and “dry-red” spectrums.
    Love it.

But that's what make the world go around!
