d'Arenberg The Danger Mouse Nero d'Avola 2018

A wonderfully fragrant first release, the only I'd suggest is perhaps how quickly you'd consume this given the aromatic seduction. It's floral, redolent of violets, segueing to seductive fruit, plums and Mulberry.

The tannins tale it on a further ride, altogether more savoury, earthen, nay ferrous. That gorgeous interplay of fruit and savoury that Italian varieties, particularly in McLaren Vale, *can* do so well.

Acidity adds an additional kick, (fleeting glimpse of chocolate too) to freshen things up, as if to give a secondary motion, and yet deliver a generous tail of savoury flavour. 92
