Castle Rock Estate Diletti Chardonnay 2017

Winemaker Rib Diletti has recently been nominated for Gourmet Traveller Wine's Winemaker of the Year, not hard to see why on this showing.

Bit of love thrown this one's way, first white from Castle Rock that wasn't a Riesling. Delicate citrus here, more about the primacy of fruit and not so much of the barrel fermentation evident on the aromatics.

It's clean and crisp, carrying an acidic punch along its spine. It's not without width, the barrel fermentation adding its mark here. 

Pristine length, focal purity on this. 93
