Hastwell & Lightfoot Tempranillo 2017


Firm and ripe, of plum, earth and leather. 

Possesses a moderate balance, with spice notes coming to the fore. Tempranillo is one of those varieties that can come across a bit middling. 


Here, it presents well as a generic dryish red. In youth, I prefer to see it as more of the juicy ‘Joven’ style; with age it marries beautifully to oak, this example spending 18 months in wood.. 89
