Clare Valley reds, so often in the shadow of the more renowned Whites - particularly Riesling.
Yet when they're on song, they truly are magnificent. Focussing blackcurrant/cassis draws you in, add to that some Mulberry and Plum character. It's fairly substantive, yet with what feels like and juicy and succulent undertow.
Good balance of fruit, married to acid and a fine structure. It's bloody good to go now, but equally can reward the patient. 91
