Fleurieu Cabernet is certainly an unsung hero. It may lack what many may consider the classic Cab aromatics, of say Margaret River, but as a regional/varietal combination it can just sing.
The back label preamble - and there are always many auto-suggestive reasons to avoid reading such - talk of the perfect blackberry pie being imagined upon the fruit being picked. And yeah, I can see it (I told you it was bad form).
There's a succulence, a black-fruited sweetness to the core of the palate, it segues to this fruit/spice sweetness that yields to the tannin. A lingering presence of cedary oak just adds to the allure, giving a fine, savoury, length. Spot on. 91
