Zonte's Footstep Lake Doctor Shiraz 2017

The Lake Doctor is a cooling breeze that comes off Lake Alexandria and offers vines, and vignerons, respite from the summer heat. Here honoured by Zonte's Footstep with their Langhorne Creek Shiraz.

Unusually sent alongside the 2013 release of the same wine, as a means to assess the longevity (cellarability) of the wine.

Here the 2017 release is redolent of mulberry, plum, violets and hints of chocolate.

It's certainly attractively propositioned, mid-weight and with generous fruit presence through the middle. Fine tannins, with malty residual oak remnants, make up the focal length of the wine, a decent grind of black pepper concluding things. 91
