Tim Adams Schaefer Shiraz 2014

Aged in 100% new French for 24 months - and boy does it show. It's released as a 4 year old, so additional

bottle time.  The Schaefers were the original growers, their vineyard subsequently purchased by Tim Adams. 

The time in oak is immediately apparent, lending that wooden cloak to the black fruit that lurks, sullen and deep - yet it is there.

Fine powdery tannin makes itself known, yet also carrying a freshness otherwise masked by the oak remnants. There's a subtle toast and char to the wine. Whilst each component seems to make itself known, each comes back to complete the whole. I think sufficient fruit to cellar to 2034. 91
